About the New Tampa Regional Library
Overview
The 25,000 square foot New Tampa Regional Library, located on Cross Creek Boulevard, was dedicated May 4, 1997. Sited adjacent to a small lake and wooded area to the south, the public reading room offers a panoramic view of this natural habitat.
Friends of the Library
Jeri Zelinski, the founding president of the Friends of the New Tampa Regional Library, was instrumental in rallying community support for building the branch. In recognition of her efforts the library's community room is named in her honor.
The Friends continue to provide support and advocacy for the library. Proceeds from sales in the Friends-operated Book Nook inside the library are used to fund programs for children, teens and adults and to support other library activities.
